Manchester City are closing in on our third signing of the summer, according to a report on The Hard Tackle.

The report claims Manchester City are close to signing Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella after beating off competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham and Chelsea.

Cucurella joined Brighton last summer from Getafe for around £16 million, and his impressive season with the Seagulls have attracted the interest of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola is keen on signing a left-back this summer with Oleksandr Zinchenko looking likely to leave this summer and Benjamin Mendy unavailable for the club due to his involvement in an off-field matter.

Brighton reportedly value the Spanish defender, who can play at left-back and left centre-back, for £30million and Manchester City are willing to pay their asking price.

Cucurella could be the ideal, long-term replacement for Zinchenko at left-back. His characteristics would vastly benefit Manchester City, as his style suits the ideas of Guardiola.
