Manchester City could offer young midfielder James McAtee on loan to Brighton to beat Premier League rivals Chelsea to the signing of Marc Cucurella, according to The Sun.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made the 23 year old Marc Cucurella a priority transfer target for the Premier League champions.

Cucurella has impressed in the Premier League since joining Brighton last summer and it is believed Brighton could demand more than £40million for the left-back.

Cucurella won the Brighton Player of the Year award after an impressive debut season for Graham Potter’s side.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are also interested in the Spanish left-back but City are confident of signing the 23 year old.

Cucurella was tracked by Guardiola before the he left Barcelona for Getafe in 2020.

Last summer, he joined Brighton for £15.4million and Manchester City are prepared to double Brighton’s money this summer.
