Manchester City are prepared to allow midfielder Bernardo Silva join Barcelona this summer if an offer of €100million is received this summer, according to Sport Bible.

Barcelona are keen on signing Silva this summer as a replacement for Holland international midfielder Frenkie de Jong who is set to join Manchester United.

Barcelona boss Xavi rates the Manchester City midfielder highly due to his technical brilliance and ability to offer the creative essence in the final third.

Xavi reportedly believe Silva and Pedri in midfield can help Barcelona recreate the midfield duo of Xavi and Andres Iniesta, during Pep Guardiola’s time at the club.

Despite interest in signing Silva this summer, the report adds that Barcelona have made no contact with Manchester City over a transfer for the midfielder.

Just like Xavi, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola holds Silva in high esteem and does not want to let the Portuguese international go this summer, especially after a fruitful 2021/22 campaign.

However, Guardiola hates keeping players against their will and will allow Silva leave only if Manchester City’s asking price is met.

Guardiola recently commented on the rumours linking Silva with a move to Barcelona.

According to Guardiola, while he believes Bernardo will stay at the Etihad Stadium this summer, he also doesn’t believe in keeping players against their will.

“As of today, I think Bernardo will continue at Manchester City next season,” Guardiola said.

“But as I have always said, I don’t like to keep players that are unhappy.”

Guardiola has also previously revealed it will be difficult for Barcelona to sign Silva due to their financial difficulties.

Guardiola: “They will find it difficult.

“Everyone knows that if the situation isn’t good you can’t make big signings.

“I hope everything goes well for them but with the situation they have they cannot do great things.

“There are moments in history when everyone has to accept it.”
