Manchester City are now set to announce the signing of Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester City have signed all paperworks with the England international and are now expected to announce the signing of the midfielder later today.

Kalvin Phillips was in Manchester on Friday to undergo his medical, which was successful, and he is now a Manchester City player. All that remains is for the club to announce the transfer.

Phillips reportedly turned down two proposals from other interested clubs as he only wanted to join Manchester City this summer.

As part of the deal bringing Phillips to Manchester City, talented Manchester City midfielder Darko Gyabi will move to Leeds United for a fee of €7million.

Manchester City reached an agreement with Leeds United for the transfer of Phillips last week.

Manchester City will pay £42million for the England international with the possibility of a further £3m in add-ons.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola identified Phillips as a top midfield target for the club with club captain Fernandinho leaving the club as a free agent at the end of June.

Manchester City stepped up interest in Phillips after completing the signing of striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund last week.

A product of Leeds’ academy, Phillips has made 234 appearances for his hometown club, with 49 coming in the top flight.

He played a key role as England reached the final of the Euros last year.
