Erling Haaland in fierce battle with Barcelona star

Erling Haaland Frenkie de Jong

Soon to be rivals Erling Haaland and Frenkie de Jong are currently fighting for a chance to buy the mansion of former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Erling Haaland secured a £51 million deal to Manchester City earlier this summer while new United boss, Erik ten Hag, is looking to lure Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford.

And the Mirror now reports that the pair are interested in living in the £3.5 million eco pad of the ex- Man United boss in Cheshire.

The report adds that Haaland was the first person to inform Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of his intention to move into the property, but De Jong’s team have now also reached out to the former Cardiff manager.

A source is quoted by the outlet as saying: “Both players have got their people looking.

“Ole has rented his place out in the past, but he moved back in when he got the United job.

“Now he’s left United it’s free again. De Jong’s team contacted Ole about renting the place.

“But he told them Haaland has got first option, if he wants it.”

Liverpool centre back, Virgil van Dijk, previously lived in the Mansion but had to move out in 2019, following Solskjaer’s announcement as United’s manager on a permanent basis.

If Haaland is unable to secure the property, he may look in the direction of Paul Pogba’s £3 million building, with the Frenchman set to join Juventus on a free transfer.
