Erling Haaland can leave Manchester City in 2025 for £150million, according to Spanish media outlet Marca.

Erling Haaland always includes release clause in his contracts and his deal with Manchester City is said to be no different.

Haaland’s Manchester City contract has two release clauses. The first of £172m triggered in 2024 – drops by £22m from 2025, opening the door to any potential suitors.

Clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United were all interested in signing Haaland before he joined Manchester City this summer and will look to try again in 2025.

There was a release clause in his deal to go from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund which Manchester City triggered this summer for £51million.

Erling Haaland joined Manchester City this summer as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football after scoring 83 goals in 87 games for Borussia Dortmund.

“This is a proud day for me and my family,” Haaland said after joining Manchester City.

“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.

“You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.

“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.

“I want to score goals, win trophies, and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here.

“This is a great move for me, and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
