Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has paid tribute to former Manchester City teammate Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus was announced as an Arsenal player on Monday after five years as a Manchester City player.

Jesus had just one year left on his Manchester City contract and opted to leave for Arsenal to reunite with former Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta following the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

After the official announcement of Gabriel Jesus signing for Arsenal, Bernardo Silva paid tribute to the former Manchester City forward.

Silva wrote: “What a player and what a guy! A true warrior in the good and bad moments.”

Meanwhile, former Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Pep Guardiola has made a big “mistake” allowing Jesus to join Arsenal.

According to Hamann, losing Jesus to Arsenal could be very costly for Manchester City.

“Pep Guardiola is making a mistake by letting Gabriel Jesus leave,” Hamann told Genting Casino.

“Erling Haaland has had his injury problems and the Premier League is a very physical league.”

Jesus scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in the 41 appearances for Manchester City last season.

In total, Gabriel Jesus made 159 appearances for Manchester City -only 99 as a starter- and scored 58 goals.
