Premier League rivals Chelsea are in advanced talks with Manchester City over a deal to re-sign Nathan Ake, according to The Times.

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling and hope to do so with Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake in the coming days.

Talks between Manchester City and Chelsea for the transfer of Ake have accelerated over the past few days and Chelsea are now confident a deal can be sealed.

Ake has emerged as a primary target for Chelsea, as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his rearguard following departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Ake made only 10 starts for Manchester City in the Premier League last season and hopes a move to Chelsea will afford him more playing time ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Nathan Ake is currently fourth choice centre-back at the Etihad Stadium, sitting behind all of Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Aymeric Laporte in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.

It is believed Manchester City want £50million for the transfer of the 27 year old defender.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has paid tribute to former Manchester City teammate Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus was announced as an Arsenal player on Monday after five years as a Manchester City player.

After the official announcement of Gabriel Jesus signing for Arsenal, Bernardo Silva paid tribute to the former Manchester City forward.

Silva wrote: “What a player and what a guy! A true warrior in the good and bad moments.”
