Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly identified three players that the club can sign to replace Nathan Ake.

Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake is closing in on a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Guardiola wants the Dutch international to be replaced.

According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Manchester City already have a shortlist of centre-backs to sign as replacement for Nathan Ake.

Pau Torres, Jules Koundé or Joško Gvardiol will be signed by Manchester City to replace Ake when he completes his move to Chelsea.

Ake has been a solid backup option in defence since joining Manchester City in 2020 and replacing the 27 year old centre-back with 23 year old Sevilla defender Jules Kounde will be a perfect business.

20 year old RB Leipzig centre-back Joško Gvardiol and 25 year old Villarreal defender Pau Torres are all solid options to replace Ake.

According to transfer expert Gerard Romero, Spanish side Barcelona are confident of signing Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva for €65m-€70m plus some small bonuses this summer.

Barcelona’s confidence is surprising as various reports claim Manchester City won’t sell Bernardo Silva for less than €100million.

Silva has reportedly told Man City manager Pep Guardiola of his desire to leave northwest England for Barcelona.

The 27 year old midfielder has already instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes to make the transfer to Barcelona happen this summer.

Guardiola holds Silva in high esteem and does not want to let the Portuguese international go this summer, especially after a fruitful 2021/22 campaign.

However, Guardiola hates keeping players against their will and will allow Silva leave only if Manchester City’s asking price is met.
