Premier League champions Manchester City are ready to offer €90million for Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, who is also wanted by Premier League rivals Chelsea.

This is according to Italian media outlet Tutto Juve, who claim Manchester City want to fund the transfer for De Ligt through the sales of Gabriel Jesus and Nathan Ake.

De Ligt, who has a contract with Juventus until 2024, is keen on leaving the Italian side this summer following disagreements during contract negotiations.

The Dutch international has become a key player for Juventus since joining from Ajax in 2019. The 22 year old centre-back made 42 appearances across all competitions for Juventus last season.

Chelsea are keen on signing two centre-backs this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona.

Chelsea are keen on signing Ake from Manchester City and De Ligt from Juventus but now face competition from Manchester City for the transfer of De Ligt.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in advanced talks with Manchester City over a deal to re-sign Nathan Ake, according to The Times.

Talks between Manchester City and Chelsea for the transfer of Ake have accelerated over the past few days and Chelsea are now confident a deal can be sealed.

Ake has emerged as a primary target for Chelsea, as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his rearguard following departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Ake made only 10 starts for Manchester City in the Premier League last season and hopes a move to Chelsea will afford him more playing time ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Nathan Ake is currently fourth choice centre-back at the Etihad Stadium, sitting behind all of Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Aymeric Laporte in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.
