Chelsea legend John Terry has backed defending champions Manchester City to win the Premier League title this season despite losing Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus this summer.

The Chelsea legend added that Manchester City are ‘too good’ and he feels the introduction of Erling Haaland will be ‘huge’.

Manchester City have dominated the English domestic stage, winning four out of the last five titles, with only Liverpool stopping Pep Guardiola’s side from all-out domiance.

Despite the transfer activities of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, the recent takeover of Chelsea and Liverpool strengthening their squad this summer, John Terry believes Manchester City remain favourites to win the Premier League title.

“Man City are too good in my opinion,” Terry posted on his Instagram story. “Haaland will be huge for them.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of Chelsea right-back Reece James.

Guardiola sees Reece James as a long-term replacement for current Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker.

Chelsea have handed Manchester City a significant blow in Man City’s interest in full-back James, according to iNews.

According to the report, Chelsea are now keen to extend the contract of Reece James amid interest from Manchester City and talks are expected to take place within the next few weeks.

Although the right-back has three years remaining on his existing £80,000 per week deal, Chelsea are keen to tie him to the club until his late 20s.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to be a huge admirer of the full-back and wants to secure his long-term future at the club.
