Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has beeb told what he must do to get the best out of new Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

According to former Arsenal striker Alan Smith, Guardiola must make Manchester City become a bit more direct to utilise the pace and physical strength of Haaland.

Smith told 888: “It’s going to be fascinating to see how Pep Guardiola adjusts City to play in order to get the best out of Haaland. Or does he ask the player to adjust his own game?

“It can be quite an intricate build-up at City but will they be a bit more direct to utilise his pace and physical strength? It’s going to be interesting how things evolve there at City.

“Certainly he is a very special talent. Nothing bothers him and he has every confidence in his own ability, as he should.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola has identified three players that the club can sign to replace Nathan Ake.

Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake is closing in on a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Guardiola wants the Dutch international to be replaced.

According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Manchester City already have a shortlist of centre-backs to sign as replacement for Nathan Ake.

Pau Torres, Jules Koundé or Joško Gvardiol will be signed by Manchester City to replace Ake when he completes his move to Chelsea.
