Manchester City have had a bid for full-back Marc Cucurella rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion, according to The Athletic.

Manchester City reportedly offered the £30million the club is set to receive from the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko but Brighton turned down the offer.

Negotiations are in the initial stages, and more talks are expected to come in the coming days.

Brighton are reportedly demanding for £50million for the Spanish left-back. Manchester City are open to increasing the club’s offer for Cucurella but would walk away if Brighton do not reduce their asking price.

Brighton rate Cucurella as one of their best players and are not in a rush to sell the Spaniard. The 23 year old left-back was named Brighton Player of the Year after impressing for Graham Potter’s side last season.

Manchester City reportedly believe agreeing personal terms with Cucurella won’t be a provisional with the left-back keen on joining the Premier League champions.
