According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella has handed in a transfer request amid interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Manchester City submitted a £30million bid for Cucurella but Brighton are holding out for £50million for the left-back which City are unwilling to pay.

Manchester City are only willing to pay a maximum of £40million for the left-back and are willing to move to alternatives if Brighton want more.

Cucurella impressed in the Premier League last season after joining Brighton from Spanish side Getafe for £15million. He was named Brighton’s Player of the Year.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola sees Cucurella as an ideal replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has joined for Arsenal.
