Portugal international Bernardo Silva has abandoned the thoughts of joining Spanish side Barcelona this summer, according to a report on Daily Mail.

Bernardo Silva is now reportedly fully focused on giving his best to Manchester City this season after yet another summer linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Manchester City insist Bernardo Silva is an important player for the Premier League champions and would only allow the midfielder leave if an offer of £85million is received from Barcelona.

However, with Barcelona unable to sell Frenkie de Jong, the Spanish club will be unable to fund a move for Bernardo Silva.

Silva was initially keen on making the move to Barcelona but is now focused on giving his best to Manchester City.

Although Silva is now open to remaining at City, much of that is likely down to the fact that Barca have not made a single firm offer.

28 year old Bernardo Silva has played 253 games for City in all competitions, scoring 48 goals and providing 50 assists.
