Manchester City are preparing to offer an improved new contract to Bernardo Silva amid transfer interests from other elite clubs, according to Daily Star.

The Portugal International has been linked with Barcelona and PSG this summer, but the club is looking to quell the transfer speculations by offering him an improved contract.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly asked the club to offer the 28-year-old a raise that will double his current £150,000 per week wage.

The club believes offering him improved terms will fend off interested clubs who are willing to meet his £80m pricetag.

Silva joined the club from Monaco for £43m and has made over 250 appearances for the club winning several silverware.

He enjoyed the best scoring campaign of his career last term, scoring 13 goals in all competitions as we won league crown again and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
