Will the World Cup affect the performances of the Manchester City players? Pep Guardiola responds

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has downplayed suggestions his City players are affected with the fact the World Cup is to be played later this year and that they could be cautious about picking up an injury and missing out.

“I don’t think the players play thinking about the World Cup or whether they get injured,” Guardiola said.

“You can get injured walking down the street. It is what it is. Whether I like or don’t like, nothing is going to change. Now is Crystal Palace.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when we face Crystal Place this weekend at the Etihad Stadium.
