Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be given a £100million budget in January to sign any player that catches his eye at the Qatar World Cup, according to The Sun.

Manchester City spent £104million this summer on transfers for Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez and Julian Alvarez.

There will be no more arrivals at the Etihad Stadium this summer but Guardiola will be backed in January if any player catches his eye during the World Cup.

Manchester United have banked close to £250m in sales since January after a string of departures, including Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleks Zinchenko.
