Manchester City star won’t play for the club until the end of September due to injury

Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte will be out injured until the end of September, according to a report on The Athletic via Sportsbible.

The Spain international has missed pre-season and the beginning of City’s title defence having recently undergone surgery on his knee after helping Pep Guardiola’s side retain the Premier League title last term.

In his absence, Manchester City have made a strong start to the season, winning three and drawing just one of our first four games.

Laporte played an important role as Manchester City won the Premier League title last season with the 28-year-old Spanish international making 44 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City last season, scoring four times in 33 league outings.

Laporte played through a knee injury to help Manchester City secure the Premier League title last season and has now been on the treatment table since then.
