Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City played well despite the 1-1 with Everton at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola told BBC Sport: “Great game. We played really good in the last three games and it makes me feel optimistic.

“Dropping points at home is always tough but I’m always trying to make our game good and we have continued to do it.

“I would say they had eight in the back. In that situation it’s movement and attacking at the right moment. In general we did it. We didn’t allow them transitions.

“They made a fantastic goal and when that happens you say congratulations but in general we did really well.”

18 year old Manchester City right-back Rico Lewis started his second Premier League game and Guardiola was pleased with his performance against Everton.

Guardiola added: “Every decision he takes and the moves he makes is good. He helped us do our job.”

  1. Why keeping Foden on the bench until added time?
and leaving Grealish on the pitch whose crosses couldn’t penetrate.
