Pep Guardiola reserved special praise for Kevin De Bruyne after the midfielder became the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League assists.
De Bruyne reached 100 Premier League assists when his cross was headed home by Erling Haaland in first half added time in the 4-1 victory over Southampton.
Asked what he made of De Bruyne’s performance, Pep said: “Really good. Kevin is back and I said in the past two or three weeks.
“I’m not the cleverest guy in the world, but the reason he didn’t play he wasn’t playing that level.
“Kevin De Bruyne at this level he will play every week. Don’t worry about that. It’s so important.
“What’s important now is there Bernardo is there. Kevin has the ability which is so difficult to find.
“When he is running at the highest speed possible, he has the ability to see the pass.
“To sees the action. Normally players must run and slow to see what’s happening and when he moves slower, he loses the ball.
“He doesn’t see the passes. It’s difficult to find that. Normally, the higher you go, it’s more difficult for the opponent, in certain moments.
“He has the ability to see it and the reason he’s reach 100 assist quicker than anyone in Premier League history is because he’s quite remarkable.”
