The father and agent of Argentina international Alexis Mac Allister has revealed the midfielder will leave Brighton this summer amid interest from Manchester City.
The 24 year old Brighton midfielder played a key role as Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“Normally the next transfer window will find him playing for another institution,” Carlos Mac Allister told Bolavip amid interest from Manchester City.
“We don’t know which one, we are just starting talks in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team next July.”
Having started his career at Boca before moving to Europe, Mac Allister’s father admits his son would like to return to the club at ‘some point’.
“Surely Alexis will return to play in Boca at some point,” he said.
“Today he is just beginning his career in Europe, but on the way back and when he decides to settle in Argentina again, he will surely want to play in Boca – even if it is for a while – to finish thanking and demonstrating the level that it can have in a club of this nature in Argentina.”
