Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte has given his verdict on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City before leaving to accept the Arsenal job.

Laporte said: “Mikel Arteta who was here, he knows our style of play very well. He is a fantastic manager; I only have good words to say about him.

“What we are doing alongside Arsenal right now is fantastic. Although I hope they can slip against us and that we can get the win.

“I think there are various finals left, not only this game. It’s very important as whoever takes more points out of this game will have a bigger advantage. We’ll want to win.

“There are a lot of games ahead of us, not as many as at the start but there are a fair few left. Teams always put the pressure on towards the end of the season to get as many points as they can. We’ll concentrate on what we can do, which is play football and that will be our aim.”
