Ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, Manchester City have been given a boost with the return of Phil Foden.

The midfielder has been sidelined since appendix surgery in March, but has travelled with the squad to face Bayern Munich and could play a part in the second leg.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has hailed Foden as a special player who doesn’t need a lot of training sessions to be fit.

“It is good news for us,” Guardiola said. “He had one training (session) and we decided he would travel with us and be on the bench.
