Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the Bundesliga giants are yet to decide whether they will turn Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo’s loan move into a permanent deal this summer.
The Portuguese international, who will turn 29 later this month, joined the German club on loan for the remainder of the season in the January transfer window.
Bayern do have the option to purchase Cancelo at the end of the season for a fee of £61.6million. However, Salihamidzic said talks are yet to have been held between Bayern, City and Cancelo.
“Cancelo is a top player, technically a pleasure for the eyes,” said Salihamidzic. “We’re glad we have him. We will see after the end of the season… it’s too early now. There are no talks yet.”
