Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has claimed Manchester City are close to becoming the greatest team ever if they win the treble this season.
“They’re clearly a fantastic team and they have been for a good while now,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“You have to give them huge credit for their consistency. They’re coming very close to becoming the greatest team, especially if they win the Champions League.
“In their form, you wouldn’t want to bet against them on anything. I spent a year there myself and I know it’s a really strong, smooth machine, so full respect to them.
“It’s different players here and a different situation. It’s about preparation in our heads and not so much the players.”
