Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley.

Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan scored the quickest goal in FA Cup final history when he gave City the lead after just 12 seconds.

Manchester United equalised after 33 minutes when the video assistant referee ruled that Jack Grealish had handled, Bruno Fernandes coolly sending Stefan Ortega the wrong way from the spot.

Gundogan volleyed Kevin de Bruyne’s free-kick past United keeper David de Gea six minutes after the break to give City the FA Cup for the seventh time.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed what Manchester United did in the FA Cup final that he didn’t expect.

Guardiola told BBC: “They follow man to man so tight and we didn’t expect them to defend so narrow. We found more spaces in the second half.”
