Manchester City are ready to go all out to acquire the services of 21-year-old RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

The report adds: “Gvardiol’s contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2027 after he penned down a new deal with them last year. And, his new contract also includes a release clause of around £100 million but it won’t be active until the summer of 2024.

“However, the 21-year-old could still be on the move in the summer transfer window given the interest from Manchester City.

“Pep Guardiola’s team have just won UEFA Champions League and have become the second English team to win the treble. Having done their bit on the football pitch, they will now shift their focus towards the transfer window. And, they are looking to sign a new central defender to further bolster their squad.

“City have been monitoring Gvardiol for a while now. They are very impressed with what they have seen of the 21-year-old and consider him an important transfer target.

“With Aymeric Laporte’s future uncertain, Guardiola’s men are all set to put forward a £80 million offer for the Croatian international. While there are other clubs interested in Gvardiol’s services, they might not stand a chance with City ready to go all out for his services.”
