Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is the second most successful manager ever after guiding Manchester City to success in the UEFA Super Cup.

Guardiola has now won 36 trophies across his spell as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City manager.

However, according to Daily Mail, Guardiola will have to win 13 more trophies to catch up with Sir Alex Ferguson who is the most successful manager ever with 49 trophies.

Ferguson won 49 trophies across 39 years in management, but Guardiola has won 36 trophies in just 14 active years in management, making his achievements all the more impressive – at an average of 2.5 champions per season.

Long-serving Romanian manager Mircea Lucescu, currently at Dynamo Kyiv, has won 35 titles in his career, which goes back to the 1970s, putting him third on the list.

Valeri Lovanovski is in fourth place with 30 titles, just ahead of fifth-placed Ottmar Hitzfeld’s 28 trophies.
