Julian Alvarez has told Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola that he treats every appearance, regardless of the position he’s played in, as an opportunity to continue his rapid development.

Speaking of his role against Newcastle he said: “I played in this position a few times last season too.

“I try to learn every day, to adapt to different positions that they play me in, the different movements I need to make to help the team – wherever that may be.

“I’m always happy when I’m called upon to play, it’s a great feeling and I always try to give my best to help the team.”
