Manchester City new signing Matheus Nunes has expressed his delight after making his debut for City this weekend.

Nunes featured in the 3-1 win against West Ham on Saturday as Pep Guardiola’s side continued their perfect start to the 2023-24 campaign.

Nunes was pleased as his side came back from a goal down to secure all three points against the Hammers.

Nunes said after the game: “It was very good – I was waiting for that [my debut] since I arrived.

“I’m happy to make my debut and to help the team get the win. I’m very happy to be here – it’s a very united team and very strong with a lot of quality players.

“I want to play always. I want to help the team, and, in the end, we got the result that we wanted. I’m happy.

“He [Guardiola] said first to ‘keep going’ because we were playing well and creating chances. We didn’t score but he said, we were playing good and carry on and that’s what we did.”
