Ex-Man City star Micah Richards has questioned the club’s decision to sell Cole Palmer to Chelsea during the summer window.
Palmer exited the Etihad at the end of the summer window, which didn’t go well with Richards as the 21-year-old was expected to become the next academy star to break through at Man City.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Micah Richards said: “I would have never sold Cole Palmer, just because l knew what he could do.
“The thing is with Manchester City, they produce so many good players and obviously, they buy top players too, so you can’t have everyone.
“If you can get £42 million for someone that didn’t play that many games… but it’s his courage I like. To take a penalty in the 95th minute. l am gutted.
“I think it was right for him to join Chelsea. I am gutted and devastated that he is not a Man City player, but I am happy he is doing so well.”
