PSG star Kylian Mbappe has spoken on the 2023 Ballon d’Or after he and Erling Haaland were beaten by Lionel Messi to claim his eight Ballon d’Or.
However, despite the debate from football fans on Lionel Messi claiming the award, Mbappe believes the Argentine deserves his eighth claim of the award as Messi won the World Cup alongside putting together one of the greatest, if not the greatest, individual campaign the tournament has ever seen.
The French superstar said: “Messi had to win Ballon d’or, he won the World Cup, he’s one of the greatest in history, if not the greatest for me.
“Haaland had a great season, me too, but next to winning the World Cup it doesn’t weigh much. Leo deserved it.”
