Former Bayern Munich defender Kevin-Prince Boateng has said that Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi is better than Pep Guardiola and will be the best coach in the world for the next 30 years.
Boateng played some part of his football career under De Zerbi in Sassuolo.
Speaking with TVPlay, he said: “If I had had De Zerbi ten or twelve years ago, football would have been different. I think he will be the best coach in the next 20-30 years. He has been able to improve every single player he has worked with, from the reserve goalkeeper to the striker.
“I worked with him when I was 32 years old and I felt stronger than ever. De Zerbi makes you feel really involved, he knew how to cuddle with me when I needed it, to motivate me when I needed it. He really looks for the human relationship aspect of leadership and that is fundamental.
“Is De Zerbi better than Guardiola? I say yes.”
