TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor doesn’t seem to buy Man City and Liverpool’s excuses of having tired players ahead of thehuge Premier League clash on Saturday.
There have been disagreements concerning the scheduled time for the clash between Man City and Liverpool which is slated for 12:30 on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has always made mention of harsh timing for the sake of South American players having to travel all the way back from the continent.
With the short timeframe and rush for preparation of the game, the chances of injury are increased with the lack of recovery time especially with players coming back from South America. However, Agbonlahor believes that the way modern players travel leaves them with no excuse.
On Thursday morning, the talkSPORT pundit said: “They’re not coming back on an easyJet flight, like Simon (Jordan) says, with no legroom. They are on private jets, with private masseurs giving them massages on the way back, the best sort of food on the plane.
“They are not slumming it and coming back from South America on easyjet.”
