Manchester City forwards Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have returned with cuts over their bodies from recent Euro 2024 qualifiers.

The City duo are expected to return to the Etihad ahead of City’s clash with Liverpool during the weekend to finalise preparations.

Speaking with the Mirror after the 1-1 draw between North Macedonia and England, Jack Grealish stated that the nature of the playing surface in Skopje was the reason for the cuts.

He said: “I have got cuts all over. The pitch was awful.

“It baffles me how pitches like that are acceptable, to be honest. There were like little stones everywhere.”

The Manchester City winger continued, “Phil (Foden) has cut his hand because of the stones on the pitch but yes, it is part of what you are going to get to some places.”
