Everton fans didn’t go back on their words during Liverpool’s game against Man City as they staged their protest flying over the Etihad stadium.
During the second half of the game, a plane flew over the Etihad Stadium carrying a banner with the caption “Premier League= Corrupt”.
Everton were trying to pass a clear message not just by flying the banner but the venue chosen to stage such protest.
Apart from the fact that City’s game against Liverpool was the biggest during the weekend, the Etihad is also the home stadium of City who are yet to be punished for 115 alleged financial breaches.
Earlier this month, Everton were handed a 10-point deduction for just one financial violation. City could face a harsher punishment if found guilty.
