Kalvin Phillips had what could be termed as his last start for Manchester City, as he was included in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI in City’s Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday night.
The England international has had a tough time at the Etihad as he has suffered from lack of playtime but was opportune to register his first goal across all competitions for the Blues.
In the latter part of the second half, City was awarded a penalty and it looked like City players chose Phillips to take it – which he fired home.
The midfielder is however set to exit the Etihad next month, as he seeks regular playtime ahead of the EURO 2024.
