Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland won’t be part of City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup final on Friday.
The duo were not expected to feature as Kevin De Bruyne only resumed training with the squad after a long spell of injury and Haaland is still sidelined with a foot injury he picked up against Aston Villa.
On the City duo, Guardiola said: “Kevin started training yesterday and will train with us tomorrow but it’s been three months so he cannot play in the final, but he is getting better.
“Erling still cannot train.”
City will play against Fluminense on Friday after booking a place in the showpiece finale with a 3-0 victory over Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
