Man City boss Pep Guardiola has said that Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are in much better shape, and City will be more careful with them upon return.
De Bruyne was an unused substitute in City’s victory over Sheffield United last week while Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland have returned to training.
During his pre-match news conference, the boss said: “They are ready, the last two or three training sessions with us. Jeremy feels really good, Kevin as well.
“Kevin was a long time [out] so we have to think about his condition. We have to be patient and exactly give him the right minutes.
“Erling is a little better, his bone so we need to be careful, [he’s had] two or three sessions and feels good.
“Hopefully [they will be able to play soon but], I don’t know for Sunday or for Newcastle, but for the rest they will be ready.”
