Kevin De Bruyne marked his return to Premier League action with a superb goal and an assist, resulting in Manchester City 3-2 win against Newcastle United, marking City’s first win in three visits to St James Park.
With Manchester City trailing 2-1, De Bruyne was introduced by Pep Guardiola as City sought a comeback.
De Bruyne was introduced in the 69th minute, and found a way out for his team five minutes later, as he drilled a well-placed shot through Fabian Schär’s legs and into the bottom corner.
Kevin De Bruyne didn’t back down even with the clock ticking down as the Belgian found fellow substitute Oscar Bobb with an amazing pass, and Bobb equally thrilled the eye with an impressive quick feet to score his first PL goal and earn Man City’s sixth consecutive win in all competitions.
Rio Ferdinand has now shared what surprised him about Kevin De Bruyn, as Manchester City recorded a 3-2 comeback victory over Newcastle.
Speaking to Laura Woods and Joleon Lescott on TNT Sports after the Premier League clash, the Manchester United legend admitted he was surprised at how quick De Bruyne has come back to his best after a long injury layoff.
When Woods asked if Ferdinand was surprised by how quickly the 32-year-old has impacted Pep Guardiola’s side, the Manchester United legend simply replied: “Yes!”
It’s safe to say City would have dropped points at the St James Park, if not for the brilliance of De Bruyne.
