Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand has reignited his belief in Manchester City’s title chances after a stunning comeback victory against Newcastle last week.

Pep Guardiola’s side pulled an impressive 3-2 comeback victory against the Magpies, coming from 2-1 down to claim all three points, and thus moving up the Premier League table.

Arsenal have now fallen behind in the title race after recording two defeats in their last and two Premier League meetings, and will have a lot of work to do as City seem to be back for business.

Rio Ferdinand told TNT Sport: “Watch momentum kick in now and these guys know what to do.

“These guys know when to put the pedal to the floor and it looks like now everybody is going to be looking over their shoulders and looking around and saying, they are coming.

“They know how to get the job done, they have the experience, the depth, the class, the quality and the firepower. Formidable.”
