Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has hailed Phil Foden for his performance against Brentford.

Foden scored a hat-trick, which saw City come from behind to beat Brentford 3-1.

Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola said: “Really tough game. From experience, what they do, they do it amazingly, every corner, every free-kick.

“We played a really good game, their goalkeeper was excellent in the first half and after the second half we were much better.”

On Phil Foden, he said: “He has played a lot of games, he is a guy that plays different positions and has the ability in spaces and the centre of goal because he likes to arrive in the box.

“They [Brentford] are so deep, spaces are difficult so to have a player moving in these spaces is so important. He loves moving in the 18-yard box and he is playing his best season since we are together.”
