Manchester City host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and Pep Guardiola’s side are in massive form heading into this game.

Mauricio Pochettino is backing former Man City starlet, Cole Palmer to do well against his former club.

Pochettino has said: “He’s not this type of player who needs to prove anything.

“He’s very grateful for his period at Manchester City and he left the club because he wanted to find another challenge or have the possibility to play more.

“He’s adapted very well and he’s lucky because he’s playing a lot of games here. He’s going to be there trying to play and perform for himself and for his team.

“He is like a South American in the way he has the capacity to adapt so quick. Sometimes maybe people here in England move from the north to the south and find it difficult to adapt and suffer.

“He arrived at the club and I think that was the key, he adapted very quickly to life here in Cobham and London and the club. That allowed him to show his talent.

“There is a word in Spanish which describes him but I don’t know how to explain it in English.

“It’s between smart, clever, naughty. He’s so emotionally intelligent and he’s going to go there and play. He could play good or not so good, but it won’t be because of the pressure.”
