Liverpool and Manchester City share the spoils at Anfield

The title race is getting more intense with each passing week, and there has been another twist following today’s heavyweight clash between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield.

Manchester City started the game the brighter of the two sides, and it was City who drew first blood.

In the 23rd minute, John Stones scored from a Kevin De Bruyne corner kick to put City in front.

The first-half ended in City’s favour, but it was a different contest in the second period.

Just 90 seconds after the restart, an underhit pass from Nathan Eke led to a penalty for Liverpool, as Darwin Nunez was bundled over by an unrushing Ederson. Mac Allister will convert the penalty to make it 1-1.

It was wave after wave of attack from the Reds in another thrilling encounter. Liverpool had the momentum, but it couldn’t translate to goals.

The Reds nearly lost it all very late in the game when Jeremy Doku struck a shot that hit the post following a blistering counterattack.

At the end, both teams went home with a point.
