Manchester City and Arsenal played out a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.

It was a very tactical battle at the Etihad, with both teams refusing to open up spaces at the back.

Sunday’s draw leaves City third in the table, a point behind Arsenal and three behind Liverpool with nine games of the season remaining.

It’s the fifth time Manchester City have dropped points at the Etihad this season, and Manchester United legend Roy Keane now believes Liverpool could end up as league champions.

Speaking after the match, Roy Keane said that ‘Liverpool are the real winners today’, adding that, ‘you look at the table now, you’re thinking Liverpool are favourites for [the title].

“But with the amount of quality on the pitch today, that’s why we’re disappointed.

“Again, credit to Arsenal obviously, good team shape or whatever and a clean sheet, but when you’re looking at the standard City have set themselves the last few years, particularly players like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden and they don’t quite reach them levels you’re disappointed.

“Because we just take for granted that these brilliant players are going to turn up and it just had an off day. They’re just off it, they’ll have to take the point but I’m not sure that’d be good enough the end of the season for City.”

Gary Neville admitted that the hosts ‘weren’t at their best today’. Adding that: “It sometimes that happens after an international break, Jack Grealish gets a little bit of a telling off for his troubles.”
