Premier League side Newcastle United are set to splash the cash on Manchester City defender Nathan Ake this summer, according to a report on talkSPORT.

The report claims the 27 year old Dutch centre-back has been by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola that he can leave the club this summer if the right offer is received.

Manchester City signed Ake from Bournemouth for £41m on a five-year deal in the summer of 2020.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe remains a big admirer of Ake after working with the Dutch centre-back during his time as Bournemouth boss.

Howe enquired about signing Ake in January, but Pep Guardiola was not wiling to sanction a move away from the Etihad at that time.

However, Guardiola is willing to let Ake leave this summer after the defender started just 10 Premier League games this season.
