According to 90min, Manchester City is interested in signing Porto midfielder Alan Varela as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who is reportedly on his way to West Ham United.

This interest from Manchester City has emerged as City would need a replacement for Phillips.

However, Manchester City face competition from Liverpool, who are also interested in Varela.

The transfer fee for Varela is said to be around €70 million, as this is the value of his release clause with Porto.
